Welcome to the Teacher Summit Blog! I hope you enjoy our brief reports. Unfortunately, we have little to report today as our plane from Miami to Port-au-Prince never left the ground. We were all seated, buckled in, and filling out paperwork for customs when the stewardess reported that due to mechanical problems, the flight would be cancelled. Hoping to catch a later flight, we disembarked from the plane and awaited word for the next flight out. To our disappointment we were told that the next flight out would be Sunday morning at around 8:30am. For compensation were were given vouchers for a night at the Crown Plaza hotel along with a dinner and breakfast. It sounds like not much was accomplished, but, all in all, we had a great day getting to know each other. This is a great crew of people! We also added Sarah and Nate from Chicago to our group and met them in Miami. Tomorrow we should have a lot to report. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and thoughts. PS. Weather in Haiti is supposed to be in the high 90’s with chances of thunderstorms each day!
